Fort Mac Strong
Posted on 14 June 2016
It has been a challenging spring for the people from Fort Mac and also all Albertans. It was heart breaking to see people fleeing from their home with little belongings and no preparation. Mother and kids separated for 2 days without knowing the where about of each other. Old couples watched their hard earned home burn down in front of their eyes with all their lifelong memories unexpectedly disappear overnight...
However, it was amazing to see how people from all over the country lent their helping hand. People from Saskatchewan and B.C. drove 10+ hrs with trailers full of supplies to Alberta to help the evacuee. Parcel from east coast of the country, flooded the donation center. Many of our own Albertan have been unemployed for long time but would fill up their tanker, load up their trailer full of supplies with their own money and start driving north to help anyone in need along the way. None of which even asked to be praised for their efforts.
B3 as a small business, we tried our best to help. We were amaze by every evacuee we had come across. With all the tragedies you guys have been through and were able to keep up the spirit, you guys are truly inspiration! We hope Fort Mac will rebuild and will be stronger then ever! Alberta Strong!
